The Best Things...

There aren't many things that make me smile; they are hard to come by. So when I find something that truly makes my heart swoon and my smile beam like sunshine, I keep it close to my heart. This post is actually inspired by fellow Torontonian Cleone, who is a minimalist, a beauty queen and a very talented girl. Her post titled "最美好的事情" roughly translated to "The most beauty things..." has so many points that resonates bits and pieces of my life.

So I share with you, 10 best things that make my life awesome the way it is:

1. When...my Tim Horton's rim says "you win a free coffee!"
2. When... I kindly let a random stranger merge in front of me and in receipt I get a little thank you hand gesture
3. When... friends and family think I am so musically talented, but the only song I can play is River Flows In You by muscle memory
4. When... I walk from 40 degrees humid weather into blasted AC at the mall (I think this is happiness for most people!)
5. When... ajummas speak to me in Korean
6. When... Mr.W holds my hand on a crowded street
7. When... I am freed from the prison of my bra at the end of the day
8. When... served with a great piece of medium rare steak and a glass of wine
9. When... I am able to let go and forgive those who have wronged me
10. When... I find money in my pockets I've forgotten about
BONUS: (taken from Cleone and oh so true) - trying samples (at T&T) without the intentions of ever buying the product

What are some things that make your life complete?

Please Help

The following photos are from various sources: Tumblr, LA times, National Geographics

I'm sure most of you have heard about the tsunami in Japan that took the lives of thousands of people. You may be thousands of miles away and not feel the impact, but please help.

I am currently impacted by this catastrophe because one of my dear friends was in Miyagi, Sendai when this occurred. He is fortunate enough to have survive, but have lost all his belongs. However, he is so incredibly strong and is currently volunteering in one of the nearby schools, helping many of the elderlies and children adapt to their situation. I am so proud of him.

You can  help too. There are many non for profit organizations that are receiving donations and sending it as emergency relief funds to Japan. There are also bloggers who are selling items and donating 100% of the proceeds, such as Eki, Yasumi, and Asiyakei. I, myself, have pledged a donation to Red Cross. These people are without home, some have even lost their family, and are trying to survive on whatever resources are left in the area, so they really need our support and for us to be compassionate during this time. If you don't have the resources or finances, there are other ways to help. You can spread the word or volunteer to fund raise at a local charity or at a relief center.

Remember, every little bit helps.

Free food, free booze....

I love Firm/Company events because it usually means lots of free stuff! I especially love it when it's open bar, but alas, it's difficult to provide free alcohol to 400 people..... *sad face*.

Anyway this is what I wore:

Ebay Cocktail dress; XXI tights; gmarket pink heels; aldo & toy watch jewelry

earrings - ebay

close up of my connector ring... I lavvv it!... but my two fingers are pretty much rendered useless. On my nails is Midnight Mission - China Glaze

Okay, next post is Holiday Giveaway! (I promise since the holidays are coming which means no more procrastination!)

Tuesday Finds

Hellooo mon cheries! A quick update on a mundane Tuesday....

Went to Sephora today to help the Sister pick up her birthday gift and couldn't help but do some shopping...I'm such a nimble shopper!

I've also busied myself with crafting and packaging Christmas gifts =D My desk looks like the 5th day of WWII, but you're not a true crafter (which btw is NOT a real word...pffft) until you cannot find your crafting tools underneath all the mess!

Stay tuned for a holiday giveaway!

Lolli-Lollipopppp

I've been lemming the icecream phone for the LONGEST time and then suddenly the Lollipop gets released! I just had to (well not had to but let's just say the resistance was futile) get my hands on one.

(source: various google photos)
From top to bottom, left to right (all LG phones): KF350 (ice cream), GD580 (Lollipop), GW300, BL20

Out of all these phones, I ended picking up today....

The GD580 aka the Lollipop! (mhmm I guess it's not much of a given the post title... =__=;;).

I cannot give a detail review yet because I haven't used it... much. I've played around with it for a good 4 hours. I'll probably only post up any issues I have with the phone since there are plenty of specifications/features review and photos out there. I'm not sure how much I like LG phones because I know they're slower and not as reliable in terms of providing reception. As you can see my previous phones were ALL Sony Ericssons. My "current" phone prior to the GD580 was the G900 which I'm still going to use since it's a smart phone and so sleek and handy, but I couldn't resist the temptation of sporting such a cute pink phone!

I also love the LED lights and how if you want to mute your phone from a phonecall, simply flip the phone over! Surprising, the camera provides good quality photos (at least on the screen) for 3MP camera. The camera tends to take more yellow photos but nothing that the white balance function cannot fix. Even the 1.3MP internal camera appears to be of decent quality.

Here is a video of Big Bang playing with the selca function. I still cannot figure out how to set the function settings for the internal camera so that it changes the faces (kind of like Macbook's photo booth) as seen in the Big Bang video. Maybe it's only available on the Korean Cyon phone version? Does anyone with a Lollipop know how to use this function?

Are you currently thinking of switching to a different phone? If so, which one?

白馬王子是一個騙子?!

白雪公主,幾甘純潔無瑕.

但係諗真o的,白雪公主,識得o個個係王子,灰姑娘識o個個又係王子;

Peace of Home

Not a moment without silence or thoughts uninterrupted.

Missing those days of freedom.

At home, it's always life living at large.

A Letter To Beatrice

Dearest Beatrice,

It takes a lot of courage, but I will ask anyway: how are you? Where have your adventures led you? What is your life like now?

It has been six months, eight days and twelve hours since I've thought about you. Sometimes, though just sometimes, I will allow myself to open up my once bleeding wounds and bathe in our lavish memories. Mind you, that is because I was momentarily weakened, but entertained by the thought of what our lives would entail if we never walked our separate paths. Each step still encloses an inkling of our past, whether if it's a smile, a fleeting touch or some distant singing laughter. It still all have a minuscule part of your presence. I often wonder when our paths will meet again - when our palms will touch, our strides will be in pace and our eyes will be expressively filled of thoughts for each other. Now, those are simply jaded memories that thorn a human heart and is no longer the sunshine to a sullen day.

I think I am deserving of some congratulatory encouragement for getting thus far without you by my side. It's not easy to erase a lifetime of memories even if they are of ones where you are blaming me and I am faulting you. I want to tell you that this will be the final farewell because from this moment I will be free of any feelings. I will have the release I've longed for this whole time and live life as is. I wish you well, I wish you happiness, I wish you love. I hope you can return my sentiments too.

Goodbye Beatrice; I wish you the best of the best.

Sincerely,

B.
