Rimmel - English Rose

Hi my lovelies!

Yes I know I've been MIA for so long that I might as well have disappeared off the face of the earth (but the question is, would I then be floating in (cyber) space?).... apparently not blogging for several months have turned my jokes really lame as well! And what makes it worse is that even Mr.Woolu noticed the lazy cat was my only post since three months ago. But my real concern is that Mr.W reads this?! Well... if that's the case - /shout out - Mr.W, please slowly let your eyes wander to the right side of the page where it says WISHLIST /end shout out.

Anyway I am back (not with a vengeance though)! I've been nagged so much to post something  that I swatched a polish purchased over the summer (around the same time as Plum Seduction). I'm still on a conquest to find the perfect rose polish. With asian skin tone hands I find wearing any shade of red not as flattering. I think overall Rimmel's English Rose is mediocre.

I like the formula because its thick and not streaky. I also really like the brush, which is wide and flat so you an cover your nail in 1-2 strokes. Maybe I just made a poor color choice, because I've definitely left this collecting dust. You can find Rimmel polishes in most drug stores and will cost around $3-$5 depending if sale discounts are available.

I can't promise my next post will be soon.... but if you want to catch my daily rantings, you can find me on twitter under the ID: superwoolu

Shiseido - The Makeup Gloss and Shimmering Stick

Awhile ago I mentioned that I scored some good deals at the Shiseido annual warehouse sale. I've finally found the time to swatch it for you guys! At the sale I purchased the The Makeup Glosses in G1 - Champagne Sparkle and G4- Petal Pink; the Shimmering Stick in SL1 and the Perfecting lipstick in P8 (Shy Pink). I believe the glosses retail for $20 and the lipsticks for $30 but I purchased all for $10 a pop because I think these are from the 2008 line (don't think they are discontinued yet though).

The glosses are very glossy (evident in the swatches below) and make a very good combination with the lipsticks or can be worn alone. The shimmer stick in SL1 is very moist and has a very glossy finish, but I think it works better with Champagne Sparkle on top. If you wear it alone, think of having frosty nude lips because of the glitter.... The Perfecting stick in Shy Pink is a matte coral pink (don't know why it's that red in the photo - refer below for a more representative shade). I love this lipstick because it's hydrating and glides on like butter - with no friction at all!

I'm off to prep for Canada Day! No work = lounging at the beach. Don't be too jealous =P

P.S. Just wanted to say hi to my new readers (:

Boujois Classic Smokey in 04 Nude

It's Friday! Too bad I managed to get sick, so now my weekend is ruined! :(

A reader a while ago asked if I tried the nude palette I got from Boujois a while ago. I finally did!

Don't mind the dryness of my hand! =P I really like the lightest shade! But the three shades do not go on as pigmented as I expected. It took quite a few swipe to get it that shade on my hand.

How the eyeshadow look on my eye after following the instructions on the back of the palette. I forgot to take a photo without flash but under day light it is not as coppery or shimmery! I did not notice any major fallout at all, but I'm not completely sold on the palette even though overall it's pretty flattery for asian eyes. I did not realize my eyes were that brown under flash O__O And.... my eyebrows are a complete mess! =P

Have a very good stress-less weekend! (:

Lunasol Nail Swatches

Hello lovelies!

A while back I purchased two Lunasol nail finish from the 2009 Holiday collection. The polish comes in:
39 White Lighting, 40 Pearlish Pink, 41 Milky Pink, 42 Natural Beige, and 43 Pearlish Rose. I got the two in 42 Natural Beige and 43 Pearlish Rose.

I love Pearlish rose! It gives off a sort of iridescent effect depending on the angles I look at my nails. Sometimes it looks pink/rosey and other times it looks peachy! There's slight shimmer in the nail polish. I cannot say I have the same feeling for Natural Beige. I am wearing two coats in the photo and it's not opaque! Maybe a third coat will do the trick but I don't like the feeling of thick nail polish on my nails :(

These are the similar nail polish I have to Pearlish Rose. I need to find a dupe though!! I bought this locally, but I cannot afford to continuously repurchasing this at $15/bottle (and there's limited stock)! You can obtain your own from online stores such as Mihoko who sells it for $24.50.

OOTD: What I wore running about to run errands yesterday
Cardigan - gmarket; wrinkly tshirt - f21; wrinkly shorts - jacob; watch - toywatch

Hahha, I don't know why all my clothing are wrinkly =P I do like the cardigan though, especially the buttons! I will put up a close up when I review the clothing I bought from gmarket a while back!

Hope you all have a lovely week! I will try to update more often =P

Oh Anna...Annabelle♡

I purchased my very first Annabelle product... I bought the Annabelle liquid eyeliner in Titanium because my Rimmel professional liquid eyeliner in ebony black was drying up.

Description from Annabelle website: A liner that is precise, smudge-free and easy to use - our liquid eyeliner is exactly that, with its fine felt-like tip and its long-lasting formula that dries quickly and stays put. The small tapered tube gives up as much as 830 applications! It is an eye makeup 'must' to properly define and contour your eyes.

There's 0.08 FL oz / 2.5 mL of product in the bottle for $8CAD, which is comparable to my Rimmel at 3.1mL at $8 or $9 (I cannot remember). As described on Annabelle's website, the eyeliner does sport a felt-like tip.I find that a felt-like tip gives more support than my Rimmel one which is a very thin brush. So the Annabelle brush definite gives more support, but draws equally as precise lines even though it may look thick in the photo!

Titanium has a purple/grey metallic sheen to it and is decorated with specks of white/blue/red fine glitter. Even though it's metallic it looks dark gray on my eyes because I draw a really thin line.

The product claims to be long-lasting and smudge-proof.... but....

It's not very smudge-proof!!!!! I lightly rubbed the area of my hand where I swatched and the glitter started to come off.... My Rimmel was more tolerant to the smudging and did not budge as much.

It's also not very long lasting!!!! I put my had under water and rubbed it lightly and BOTH the Annabelle and Rimmel came off (゚д゚;)...... I did not even bother testing it with my makeup remover because we all know what the verdict will be....

Despite all the fall backs of this product I really like the color! I don't find the price overly bearing, so I just have to make sure if I'm wearing it, I prime my eyes really well... (with the sketchy eyeliner primer I got from Taiwan and which I can no longer read the name of because it has fully rubbed off....). I don't recommend this to anyone with lots of eyelid oil (like me) since this will definitely give you panda eyes after 2-3 hours, maybe less if you end up rubbing your eyes.

Overall verdict:

Price:
Packaging:
Repurchase: Sitting on the fence, we'll see if any other products catch my eyes
